About SubPeek
SubPeek sends you an alert by email, Discord or Telegram when a new post appears in a public subreddit you follow, optionally filtered by keywords. It exists because Reddit is retiring subreddit RSS feeds on November 13, 2026, and many people relied on those feeds to keep up with their communities.
SubPeek is currently in a closed beta (waitlist) while its access to the Reddit Data API is reviewed. Live Reddit data is only used once that access is approved.
Who runs it
SubPeek is built and operated by Wentao Zheng, an independent developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Reddit, Inc.
How it uses Reddit's API
- It uses only the official Reddit Data API, read-only, with OAuth and a descriptive user agent — no scraping.
- It only reads the newest posts in public subreddits that users have chosen to follow, on a fixed schedule and within Reddit's rate limits.
- It doesn't search or crawl Reddit as a whole, and doesn't read comments, private messages or user profiles.
- It never posts, votes, comments or sends messages on Reddit, and never asks for anyone's Reddit login.
- Every alert links back to the original post on Reddit.
What it doesn't do with Reddit data
- It doesn't sell, license or share Reddit data, or offer it through an API or export.
- It doesn't use Reddit data to train or evaluate AI or machine-learning models.
- It doesn't track or profile Reddit users or use Reddit data for advertising.
- It doesn't keep it: posts already deleted or removed are skipped, and stored post details are deleted after 30 days. See the privacy policy for details.
