How Telegram subreddit alerts will connect

By SubPeek · Updated

Telegram alerts are coming later. This guide explains how you will connect your private chat when the channel becomes available. Join the SubPeek waitlist for updates; live Reddit alerts are also awaiting API access approval.

What connecting will do

SubPeek links your Telegram private chat to your SubPeek account so its bot can send matching alert messages. You do not provide a Telegram password or a Reddit password. Group and channel destinations are not covered by this flow.

Connection steps when available

  1. Sign in to an approved SubPeek account and open Settings.
  2. Find Telegram. If Telegram is shown as unavailable, you will need to wait until the channel opens.
  3. Select Connect Telegram, then Open Telegram.
  4. Tap Start in the bot chat. The account-linking URL is valid for 15 minutes.
  5. Return to SubPeek and select I've connected — refresh. Confirm the Connected status before creating an alert.
  6. Create or edit an alert and select Telegram under Send alerts to, then save.

Testing and troubleshooting

Use Send test alert on a saved alert to send a sample message to your chat. If the linking URL expires, return to Settings and start a new connection attempt. Keep this link private because it connects your chat to your account.

If a connected bot cannot send messages, check whether you blocked it and read the per-channel result. Disconnect in Settings when you no longer want the account linked. Pausing an alert stops that alert without changing the account connection.

Polling, filters and privacy

The planned check intervals are 30 minutes on Free and 5 minutes on the planned Pro tier. These are check intervals, not instant-delivery promises. Only new posts in selected public subreddits are in scope; comments and Reddit private messages are not.

The connection stores your Telegram chat identifier. See the privacy policy for retention and deletion, and the Discord guide for the other chat destination.
